Yesterday - 09/09/2009, Derren Brown predicted the lottery numbers live on Channel 4 (UK). It was brodcast live at 10.35 GMT BST, the exact same time the BBC brodcast the live lottery results.
What he could have done is had different delays between the two channels. The first channel has a longer delay while his has a shorter delay. This gives him time to copy down the numbers.
When the broadcasts go out, they'll both by synced and it will seem like it's happening at the same time.

Both Channel 4 and BBC must have been in on the trick.
BBC could have had a 10 second delay. Channel 4 could have a 5 second delay and give access to a real time live feed from the BBC. This would give Darren 5 seconds to see the real time live feed from BBC, write down the numbers in 5 seconds.
The audience will then see both delayed feeds and it will look like they're happening simultaneously.
Thanks newdude for you answer! It makes sense... the only thing I'm thinking is... The National Lottery draws broadcast by the BBC must be live. There can not be a big delay, only a few seconds. There was basically no difference between the BBC and Channel 4 in broadcasting the draw, only a second literally! The balls with the numbers on them never moved, we seen them the whole time, before the draws were made. I'm still Puzzled!
Very good! I'm going to throw something else out there. If you seen the video, you seen the six balls in a line. We seen them the whole time, even before the draw. The National Lottery is funded by the Government, so it would be awful if they chose to misrepresent us and record the show. They say it's live. He says he is going to reveal how he did it on Friday night GMT. I am wondering what will be said then. I too do not think he predicted them, I am just trying to see how he got around it.
That 10 second delay comes in handy for scams like this - I don't believe it for a minute! It may have looked like simultaneous broadcasting, but it wasn't!
I watched it last night, and flicked from Channel 4 to the BBC and from what I could see, there wasn't a delay. Derren Brown is well known over here as well. I am trying to find out how this could be fixed but can't find the answer! I'm puzzled!
