I'd probably be doing something like saying "Goodnight John-boy" like they did in The Waltons. Why did that family have to say goodnight 500 times before turning in? Jeez, by the time they were done, it was freakin' morning! Either that or reading by candle light. Doing a LOT of things by candle light. Actually, I could do with a weekend without any of these contraptions: might me a nice change of pace. I just reminded myself why I like it so much when we lose power!!
I know what you mean. Same thing with our coal-burning t.v. set. If we don't air the place out, we end up with black soot up our noses...among other places. Coal is expensive for a half hour of the tube!
What a great answer. I laugh so hard...
I use to watch that show.
Yes if you do not have anything to do one way to pass time is to say goodnight 5oo times.
At last count I think they went up to 700 goodnights on that show. No wonder they were so cranky all the time! I shudder to think what went on in that house after Light's Out!
I would be looking at family pictures and mementos, admiring my garden, reminiscing about what life is all about and being thankful that we have freedom and that we are so much better off than millions of people elsewhere.

I would be gardening providing the weather was good enough, there's always something that needs attention or at the garden centres browsing around, having a coffee and cake or knitting for my granddaughter.
I'd probably get more housework done (!) Or I'd go into London, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Soho or the Embankment on the Thames, its a great walk. If it was a nice day I might have a boat trip. But, even so, there's only so much of THAT ... SO, What DID everyone DO before we all had these amazing distractions .. well..I can think of SOMETHING.. !!

I think we'd talk more.. and, we'd have to write letters.. letters? What's THAT!
Yeah, imagine that. People would actually have to talk to each other and write letters. What a lost art both are these days! I know what you're thinking about how people passed the time back then, too! Hee Hee.
If I am away from the computer from a long time, I often get laptop withdrawal symptoms. Your eyes will remain wide open and you may rock back and forward in your chair. I'd be nothing without my computer!
What would I be doing otherwise? Probably attending one of those help groups, can't remember the name or turning myself into a mental home. If I never had it to start off with, Maybe I'd survive!
Seriously... I'd find a way to entertain myself. If everyone else was stripped of these, It would make it so much easier! Instead of starring at a screen I'd be out in the air more often or doing all my homework, well before it's due!
hmmm....unsure.
id walk to my frends houses and then i would go shopping and go to a cute lil cafe for lunch.
i would travel around the world... becoz i would hav more money becoz i wouldnt be spending it on my mobile fne or anything.
