My niece took a picture of the moon soon after my mother passed away. When she downloaded the picture to her computer she noticed this weird orb, for lack of a better word, in the picture. When enlarged it looks exactly like an old picture my sister has of my mother. Creepy, I know! I typically don't believe in things like this but I've noticed orbs in LOTS of my digital camera pictures. These orbs don't seem to be of faces or people, just odd. So I wonder... what do YOU believe? Have you ever had something strange like this happen? Anything odd or creepy show up in pictures you have taken that weren't there when you pointed the camera?
we all have our beliefs that something has made something do something that we can't explain. be it paranormal or the actions of the universe.
there is so much that we don't know so why not call it for what you believe.
i think that there are energies that we can't see or messure. where
does our live energies go when we die. and when 5000 people die
wouldn't that be something. life affects life and i think that the energies of the universe( just to give it a name) no matter how large or small affects us in ways that we don't perceive.
gee, i think i confused myself on that one..lol
Jen, you won't believe this. I just watched a movie about ghosts showing up in photos, called Shutter. It's actually based on an ancient Japanese belief. Some say they won't get their picture taken, because they believe the camera will capture their soul. After seeing this movie, I began to wonder myself about some things that I've seen in photos over the years. Not only in photos, but in the design on the panelling of walls, ice formation on windows. I admit, I've been freaked out a few times over things I thought were my imagination. Do I believe it's true? How can anyone say yes or no? There are a lot of things, forces, that we don't yet understand...the unknown and all that. As for those pics your sister took and the orbs in your own pics...let's say I have an open mind. I watch a lot of true story haunt movies..some utter crap, but others that make you shiver, and wonder...did they actually experience something, and no one believed them? Creepy-fun subject. Ever wonder why it's usually young kids who always fear ghosts and monsters? Is it because they see things, and adults just tell them it's nonsense? Maybe we lose that as we grow older and become more jaded. I still have no explanation for seeing my brother pulled violently under his bed sheets...we shared a room. No one else was there. This really happened. People think I'm nuts, I don't care. Those have been some of my unexplained encounters. I wish we could all have an open mind to..not necessarily evil spirits and boogeymen...but that maybe we don't know as much as we think we do about this life and the universe. Man does not know everything. Any man who thinks(or woman,sorry)he/she does is full of it.
For what it's worth I believe you about your brother and would love to hear the whole story sometime. I find these things so fascinating! I think lots of times we see things that are suspicious and reason it away. In any case, thanks for the info!
i have also heard and read that "ghosts" will show themselves easier to children bc they still have an innocent soal and arnt so quick to not believe. and i belive you bout the sheet experiance. ill tell more bout it in my more answer details.
Well, it did happen. Can't explain it to this day. Mandy, I heard about children being able to see spirits, too, because their soul is straight from God and so pure. I often wonder what newborn's see that we don't. Interesting to think about! Heather, I recall some of the experiences you've told me about, and I do believe there's something to it. I just can't wrap my mind around these things. Happy Haunting for Halloween 2009, all!

You might want to take a look at orbstudy.com
I believe there are a lot of things 'out there' that we don't know about that we are prone to giving an explanation to because we need to for a sense of logic, we need to find a reason to satisfy are curiosity so that we can file it away but of course this doesn't mean we are correct in our assumption!
Orbs on photos can be explained as dust particles in the air caught just as the flash goes off or the shutter opens. This happens more frequently with digital cameras than it ever did before. What you see in these orbs is what you perceive it or want it to be or what someone suggests it might be - but not necessarily what it actually is. Being a realist, I don't believe in the supernatural - but I do believe we can transfer images of a loved one who has passed, which we carry in our memories, to inanimate objects, mist clouds or orbs because we want to think that these people are still with us in more than just memories. It's comforting to us. No harm done.
See... the problem is that I agree with you too. Both sides are about equal in their explainations and examples. Both sides are valid, both sides make sense, both sides are equal in my mind so it's nearly impossible for me to sway one way vs. the other. Regardless, I appreciate all points of view. Thanks! :)
i believe in the after life of roaming the earth rehealing ur spirit b4 Jesus comes back again. but imnot one to want to talk bout it bc my Pastor says its a demonic mind control to want to know more than you already know. its the work of the hated satain comming into play. so im going to shut up now.
but it is possible that it was ur mom.

and i once was walking home one night, and i was with my bf. and he said that he had this creepy feeling that we were being watched. and well, i kept seeing things, even b4 he hadsaid anything. and when he left to head for home after walking me to my place, i had to take my dog outside to toilet, and i was still seeing these kreepy shadow and hearing super natural sounds. and i was pushed back and forth for about 5minutes and each time it was harder than the last. so i do believe you kyle i have gone through something simular like ur brother. and when my dad dies, "he would always play solitare on the computer) i was at my computer and his was still set up next to mine, anyway, i watched the screen turn on and watched the courser move and place the cards in thier correct places, and i could hear the mouse clicking. and when the screen stopped moving, there chiar pushed in and then i felt lonlier, like someone had left the room. some story uh? all true. all true
hhmmmm.... you see a round orb object while picturing the moon......strangeee...lol jk
but ya i do beleive in them i hve ghosts in my house and ya they are kool one just bought me an ipod and the other threw me a biiiig party!!
lol jk btw i do actualy beleive in ghosts/demons/ferrets...
I have personally never experienced anything like you describe, but I'm very open minded about stuff like that. That's not to say I believe in one explaination versus another. There may be a perfectly rational explaination for these orbs, a faulty camera lens, defective CCD in the camera, obscure lighting etc, or it could as you say be attributed to some spiritual activity. I think we all have our ingrained belief system that affects the way we explain phenomena we can't or don't understand, and that ultimately is the biggest human flaw we possess, beliefs influence facts. There is also a problem of how we interpret images, the mind - eye circuit, ie what the eye sees and what the brain extrapolates can often be worlds apart, based again on our stored image library and ability to apply an explanation to what we 'saw'. The Native Americans couldn't actually 'see' the ships the Spanish came in because they had no comprehension of what a ship was. Amazing but true. The same thing happens in research science, for example, microscopy. But, back to the question. I believe it's possible, yes, but that doesn't mean it's the actual explaination for what you are observing.
With the new types of digital camera's, there has been an increase in orb sightings. This is usually due to dust on the lens, in the field of view, or in the air. It can also be caused by light reflecting off water vapor. You usually will see them in darker photos and this is may be the cause.
As for seeing faces in objects, its in our nature to do this. Before it was proven, people would see a face in the rock on the mars face, but this has been proven to be an illusion of light.<br />
As human's we tend to look for eyes and features that resemble something familiar. We see angles in clouds and on city buildings.
Having said all that, this universe is a pretty big place and we have only been around for 20,000 years!! The universe is 15 BILLION YEARS OLD! Also by science we have proven mathematically, that there are other dimensions that we cannot see. With the new string theory in physics on its way up, its showing us that there could be 6 new dimensions that we do not see, that are rolled up in to such small objects, it makes an atom look like a planet.
If you draw on a piece of paper, a little donkey that has its head facing to the right and cut it out and then put it on another flat piece of paper with its nose pointing right, and then if you turn that little paper donkey all the way to the left, you will notice his feet are up in the air and his face is on the left. That donkey will never look the same way facing right, if you turn him left. You CAN get him to look the same way however. You lift the donkey out of 2 dimensions and in to the 3rd dimension. You flip him over and place him back on the paper land, he will be facing the other way!
What does this mean?
This proves there are other dimensions out there, that we cannot see and that all objects in this universe, have hidden side, that we cannot see. So there are things int his universe that we cannot see because we are bound by 3 dimensional eyes!
They can exist in the same space we live in right now, and we would never know they existed. They could move over top of us, effect our dimension and it would be as if an invisible man was moving or doing things. They could also make sound that we could hear, but never see the origin of the sound. As for moving objects, it would be difficult and uncoordinated but definitely possible.
Maybe ghosts are not our loved ones past on, but other beings in other dimensions, trying to communicate.
