My Account; Edit Profile) I've never promoted an event. I think a theatical booking agency is the key. A good agent could help you size up the situation as to what artists could be afforded and availability. Also, It may be wise to learn the ropes by having an experienced person who has dealt with agencies before, working for you and/or with you. Perhaps someone who was on a promoters staff, who at least can give you an overview of concert promotion and anticipate needs and details from insurance to porta-potties, and everything else you wouldn't think of. Network for someone who can be trusted.
