SPREAD LOVE baby to all those that can comprehend, like they said in a few good men; some people can't handle the truth!! you can't go around satisfying everyone all the time but you sure as hell can make an impact and inspire. nobody said it's all rainbows and butterflies. also to help protect certain people from hurting themselves any further. again to learn and rite my wrongs. to enjoy myself and other's company. to create a world of my own design so i have somewhere to go when i'm fed up with this one. to play, laugh and learn how to be a care-free child again. to earn my keep and pay the piper. to fight my demons and kill the devil. to witness blessings and behold beauty. to make peace with and protect innocent children. to make my own concepts. to take risks. to share. to become FREE.!.!

I'm not answering this question for the points. I am in total agreement that if nothing positive or pleasant can be said, it needs to be kept to one's self. It's SO hard to go on here day after day and see all of this negativity unfolding like poisonous venom, tainting everything it comes in contact with.

I am on this site because I think (however misguided it may be) that I can be of use to someone. I don't answer questions with the thought of points, money or recognition. I answer them because I am really trying to help someone and because I learn something every time I do. I like to challenge myself to find answers for tough subjects.

I do know that I make a difference because of all the positive feedback I've gotten back from the people who have benefitted from my answers and advice. These aren't necessarily the regulars here, but the people that come for one or two questions and leave after getting their answers. If these askers stay, not only because of their answers, but because they felt that they, too, could add something, then I'm even happier that I might have helped to facilitate that.

I also stay because I have met some truly remarkable people here. Some stay... some go. That's the way that life works. The ones that stay have become like family. We share both our happiness and our pain. We laugh and cry together. We enrich each others lives as we try to make a difference on here. We share cultures, beliefs and thoughts, and if we are truly open minded people, we can embrace our differences as well as our similarities and be better people for doing that.

I have really enjoyed getting to know people from all over the world. I may not necessarily subscribe to what everyone believes all of the time, but we all have the right to have our beliefs. If we reap what we sow, then maybe on here, I would like to believe that I try to sow knowledge and friendship, and I can only hope that it is knowledge and friendship that I reap.

Aside from the serious answer, I do want to say that I've gotten some really great laughs with all of you. Sometimes, you all get me going to the point where my sides hurt! When the laughter and wit is flying, it's really fun. We have some truly great humor and minds on here and this makes it so much fun to come on to this site. I'd much rather find laughter here than hatred.

I'm here because I enjoy helping people who can't help themselves. I'm here because I've met some of the greatest people from all corners of the earth who I consider dear friends. I'm here because this is a site which gives people a voice - a place to bare their souls without being judged. I'm here because I think askpedia serves a purpose beyond knowledge, beyond experience, beyond ratings, beyond standing. I'm here for my askpedia family who are loyal, trustworthy and understanding. I'm here because I need to be here, I want to be here!

i first started like everyone else. asking one question. i found that i could answer a few Q's and it turned out that i answered a few more.
i found that maybe i had something to offer that someone could use and
i got enjoyment from sharing. it isn't offen in real life when you can share
and help someone with there problems. time went by and the i became
we. the joy that i get when we work together to help someone else. we
are all on here,,i think for the purpose of fulfilling someone elses needs.
hell if i was on this long for just myself i wouldn't be getting the eye
from the wife..and who knows, maybe i will learn how to spell. why is that so hard..lol. i like trivia and doing the research on the Q's and it makes me
learn. i think the wife sometimes gets tired of me always bringing up what the last Q was or how do you spell this or that.
i also like to talk to the people here. i tell someone that i have just talked to someone else in another country. no one else does that.. im not going to say that ap is all about helping someone else. it is the enjoyment that i get from helping someone else. ok i am a little self indulgent.. and maybe one of these days i can wright as eloquently as ws.

Originally I had a difficult question I needed answered. Despite a good crew we had back then, I didn't get a very good answer. A local expert solved my problem. I observed that I could give as good or better answers.
I believe in helping people. This is enlightened self interest. That means that it is good for everybody and good for me. I have a disability (poor eyesight) and finding ways to help is difficult. This was a way to do it.

I also met some good people. That is a bonus. There is also some other fun. Like today I get to look at your great smile and occasionally I get a hug from you. That is a reason to keep doing this.

None of this is complicated... or is it?

To have fun, to give answers & to learn in the process.

I first came here to seek an answer to a question. Then, I saw some questions which I thought I could give answers to & which I did. An added bonus is getting to know nice & interesting people, some I now consider my friends. Then, the rest is history.

Indeed, there are a lot of other question-&-answer sites, so why stick to Askpedia? Personally, AP is like a family to me -- a place where I can freely share a piece of myself without being judged, a place that makes me feel I belong. I guess that's what's lacking in other Q&A sites -- that personal touch.

Someone wants to know what I do know. I want to give them what they want. We all have different qualifications and skills. None of us knows all the answers.

I came to askpedia because i had a question that i did not know the answer and like someone said knowledge is an open door but you need to open yourself .
I realize by visiting the site that i could help other people to find answers that i knew and had done research on the subject.
It is not enough to be busy so as the ant the question is what are we busy about?
If i can help someone with the good word at the right time and is iniciated with love then this makes me happy.
My journey is to help people that are looking for meaning in life.
Not all wisdom measures up to the wisdom of the Bible so i search for Bible questions in this site that i feel i can answer.
Every time i check askpedia i learn something my english is improving since Portugues is my language and my typing skills are better.
There are many benefits for me being here and thank you members for the insight on things and for your great answers.

I'm here to better myself. To try to help others, even if it means drawing on my own past experiences. I'm here to have fun, learn about different cultures and lifestyles. I've met some wonderful people on AP during my time on here, and have benefitted greatly from advice and constructive criticism. I learn something new every day, either by doing research for a question, or interacting with people from all over the world. I take my responsibilities seriously, knowing that there are people depending on me for advice, honest and factual answers, or to lighten up the mood sometimes. I'll never stop wanting to learn, or teach those that need guidance. AP has a unique community atmosphere that I have yet to see on any other site. Bravo.
