Have you noticed that some askers come on AP asking for advice, but what they really want is for you to approve of their opinions? When you don't, they get angry. If they've already made a decision, even though it may not be a good one, why bother asking for advice in the first place?

Some people seem to ask questions as a form of pot-stirring. They are just taking their pleasure by starting an argument.
These are the same type of people who furtively pinch a kitten's ears when nobody is looking.

When people like that pop up, they are looking for validation. They are insecure and rather than making a decision and doing what they want, they feel that they need to get everyone one board with their ideas to prove that it is a good one to begin with.

Chances are, these people have already been told that their idea isn't good. They have probably been told by many people why their idea won't fly, so the try to find approval and validation by strangers. They come on question and answer sites to see if they can convince strangers that don't know them, that they know what they are doing.

The funny and sad thing is that even total strangers, peers of their own age and adults of all ages, tell them the very same thing, they blow up and refuse to listen. It is at this juncture that we have to throw up our hands and say "I give up". These people have already made up their minds and are going to do whatever they want. They wasted their time and they wasted ours.

Like the old saying says... you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. Like a friend of mine says..."you can't fix stupid".

I think they're lacking something in their lives, MB, and the only type of attention they seek is negative. They're just trouble makers who bask in "drama" because they're lives are so empty, not to mention their brains. It's almost like they want validation for their decision, or it may even be a cry for help, I don't really know. I do know that it's occurring a lot on this site, and top members are having to deal with it, and that, in my opinion, is not what AP is here for. I think they need to grow up and take responsibility for their own lives.

Oh I so agree, not only do they get angry, they're also rude and abusive. They just want the answer they want, pointless! Goodness knows what sort of background they come from but its alien to me. They're just teenage Brats!
