I agree 190%! It is still first and formost, a question and answer site, but from a social perspective, our collective personalities have meshed and a wonderful group of friends has emerged from it. I came to this site as a total stranger. As I started to become a regular, people started to communicate with me on a personal level and now I consider this group to be very dear friends.

1. Because we are actual friends
2. To be nice to people that you barely know (like the folks in your family)
3. To keep face with people that they know but don’t care for
4. As a way of acknowledging someone you think is interesting
5. Because it’s easier to say yes than no if you’re not sure

It is only the obnoxious few who have made and continue to make themselves totally disagreeable that would oppose us having social interaction as a family, and have only themselves to blame that none of us want any interaction with any sort of individual like this. I am with worriedsick on this every step of the way on this and am sure the rest of our AP family would agree.

I can only suggest and hope that if anyone on AP thinks to the contrary, that they go and join another site as it is patently clear that they aren't happy here, which is entirely through their own doing; if they can't see this, then its their problem!
If they can't stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen!

i have to admit that i use other sites for searches and i am a member of them... most, if not all will give you a canned answer from the archive
i don't think that i have gotten a live person from any of them. this makes AP unique. i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the interaction with other members. what would be the fun in that.. to toil away for hours answering Q's with no reward? the interaction is my reward.. i answer and 90%
of what i reply to,, i have no idea of what the asker thinks or if the advice
was helpful,, or even if they received it.. but with my friends that i communicate with regularly. that is something that makes all this worth while..
ooh,, and just for a side, i want to tell everyone that i got a new spell check. works great on AP. it is called iespell.. and it is free.. so maybe i won't kill the better spellers any longer..BAG

There is a lot of questions asked here in which I couldn't give a great answer too. I don't specialise in any of the catergories here although if I believe I know the answer, I'll answer!

What is the point behind that? There are other Q&A websites out there, other websites where there are many questions in which I can answer easily. So why am I not there? This website is such an Interesting site, there is questions in which I have to research and learn about, that is not possible on other Q&A sites but what is the main reason I'm here?

The main reason I am here is due to the Social Interaction on this website, AP would not be the website it is without all it's member talking and laughing. It would be boring and I guarantee that not a lot of the top users would have stayed and remain here today!

This is not just a Q&A site, This is our little site! For all of the family to communicate! For those who do not believe it is a Social website. They are obiviously not part of our little family!
