Pack only good clothes for going out to dinner and sight-seeing, etc. Saves on laundry expenses, and they can be shoved in the trunk in plastic grocery bags - not in luggage. Rolling clothes instead of folding them saves space in suitcases and require little or no ironing. If I have to stay in hotels, I get a little weird! I have a little cleaning kit I don't leave home without. Even the best and cleanest hotels rarely clean T.V. remote controls and telephone receivers. (A maid told me that!) Antibacterial wipes do the trick, and you're less likely to get sick on vacation!
