There will always be ignorant people, especially some of the older generation, and their views just get passed down the line, its a bit like voting or colour predjudice; their parents feel that way so, so do they. People like that never think for themselves or question anything, sadly, they just accept it... and pass it on..

Sadly, so many people are programmed to fear change and adaptation. People are programmed to believe what they have been indoctrinated with since birth. Nobody wants to question the norm and see if it's right. We are carefully taught from birth to fear the unknown, not to explore it and learn from it. Fear and ignornace is what holds us back.

Not so long ago, it was the fear of race and interracial marriages that was considered unimaginable. Race was the big issue for the longest time. Thankfully, that has started to mainstream and go away, but still has a long way to go.

The final fear is that of gays. Gay is not a choice. It's something that one is born with. Gays are people. They laugh when they are happy and they feel pain if they hurt, just like the rest of us. In a practical sense, their vote counts just as much as anybody else's. They pay taxes, are governed by the same laws, live, breathe and die like the rest of us.

I'm friends with lots of really remarkable people. They are people first, friends secondly and oh... some of them are gay, too. Gay, like gender, race and age are merely an afterthought. The are people first and they are my friends secondly... I'm lucky to have such wonderful people like that in my life. My life is better for that.

A lot of people still feel that homosexuality is wrong because that is how they were raised... It is like if you were raised to hate blacks or asians or americans, most likely you will teach your children to hate and then they will do the same and etc etc... also some people just love to dicriminate against anyones that are not normal to them. Another reason is religion. A lot of people are still religious, though probably not for long, but they learned just like the people who hate races, by education being passed down from generation to generation. Some people will never except change and some will. I, personally, am not queer but I have bisexual friends and a homesexual cousin and it is easy most the time but sometimes it is hard for them. We all cannot be happy all the time.
