brake pads do not have springs only brake shoes have springs and it depends on the make and model car

DEPENDS ON YOUR MODEL-SOME "SPRINGS ARE REALLY ANTI-RATTLE CLIPS" AND THEY USUALLY ATTACH TO THE END TABS ON THE BRAKE PAD WHERE THEY ATTACH TO THE BRAKE CALIPER.
