The news you read in the papers, magazines and see on TV has all been carefully selected and edited. Acceptable behavior , although wide in parameter, is still what is presented there also. Politicians tell us only what they want us to hear and even offer suggestions on how to digest their junk. Society is a structure, and to "fit in" we assimilate the mandatory conditions presented to us. Are we "conditioned"? You can bet your bippy that it happens everyday. Do we have to accept the conditions. Nope. Still have the freedom to be "eccentric"!

We all have to a degree, often subliminally! That being said, I've always been a non-conformist! I hate shopping, soap operas, bingo, shoes, perfume, hair spray, gossip, baby showers, wedding showers.......wait!! Am I a real woman?

We're conditioned by what we learn, what we see, by our environment, upbringing---moral and ethical values, etc. When I think of classical conditioning, Pavlog's Dog comes to mind. If animals are conditioned, then we are, too, to a higher degree. Our conditioning differs because we all come from unique backgrounds and have our own life experiences that make us who we are, or are not. The media has a conditioning effect on us, our education, cultural differences. For example, my response to something may be totally opposite your response and so on. Very interesting when you think about how conditioned we are. Last, but not least, some of us choose to condition our hair after shampoong...some of us forgo that step. What a remarkable nuance that is, don't you think?

We are totally conditioned beings, even before birth. It starts in a womb with a view. This view is conditioning us before we leave it!

Our solar system is in a galaxy called the Milky way, with hundreds of BILLIONS of stars, just like our own. These galaxies come in clusters of hundreds of billions of galaxies, called super clusters which are massive in their own right. These super clusters create large structures with massive distances in between them.

There are a lot of stars out there, but the spaces between them are all so distant, and the universe has been around for a long time, so that its probably rare that life ever meets each other.

Having said that, imagine another race of beings outside our own. If we took common bases, like carbon and evolution, we can begin to understand its all a part of our human condition.

Life is how we have made it, what ever we desire. What ever strange habits, what ever strange traditions to make it through.

These desires are fueled by condition. Condition can have absolutely no explanation and make absolutely no sense, but that does not matter.

If a big ball of rock didn't hit the earth 65 million years ago, to kill the dinosaurs, we would not be here and there would possibly be another form of life that is reptilian and walking upright.

You can bet they would have their own forms of conditioning and have rules that make absolutely no sense in our real world. You can also bet that our conditioning and what we do, would make little sense to other beings outside in the universe. :)
