I believe that if it is SEALED (unopened), is has CLOSE to the same properties as an unopened can of veggies; about 1 to 1.5 years.
I had only noticed this because during one of our trips to Atlantic City a few years ago, we had ordered room service. They give you those cute little bottles of ketchup, mustard, mayo (yes, we did order burgers... what can I say??). I took a few home.
I just recently went to use them, and evidently, the Ketchups were more of a brown color than red. They were over 2 years old!
So, yes, I trashed them. I believe that EVERYTHING has an expiration date! Even if it is not noted!
Every food has a shelf life no matter how much it has been treated. Also every bottle whether it is plastic or glass breathes so eventually it deteriorates.
Always make sure to use it before expiry date printed on it.
