We decorate our real spruce tree with those small white lights. They reflect colors on the walls...we love that. Personal ornaments, like ones my Nieces and Nephews made for us. We put a silver star on top. A red and green tree skirt around the bottom part of the trunk. Ofcourse, I always hang my singing Elvis on the tree every year. Push his button and he sings"Celebrate My Baby Back To Me". I have some old ornaments from my childhood, and so does my Fiance, and those are the ones we make sure are displayed out front. Oh, and some brass ones with my name and the family name one them. We don't go overboard with decorations...I like to know there's a tree under there. Often we'll place candy canes and pinecones on the tree, too. The bigger the tree, the better!
With the little one on the way, you might have fun finding ornaments each year that celebrate your child like baby's first Christmas. I did that with my daughter for many years and when she gets my ornaments, she will see them and think of me and how special she is to me.
I love the King, too. Even have some of his old vinyl records. He looks awesome on the tree. Hi, krissy(is that the right name?). Good for you for making your own account! Love your Tiger avatar. Good to have you and livvyjane on AP together!
I literally have boxes of Christmas ornaments that have both been handed down from generation to generation and ones that I personally accumulated over the years. My tree topper is an angel that my daughter picked out when she was little. I have a really pretty Christmas tree skirt that I made a few years ago. Hopefully, the lights will work for yet another year... lol.
My tree is certainly an eclectic one. I love the character that the mixture of ornaments gives it...something old, something new, memories and people attached to every bit of it. All of this is what makes my silly little collection special to me.
Spaghetti and meatballs - better than those glass balls and tinsel! You have to make the meatballs tough so the hooks will stay in them, and the spaghetti al dente so it doesn't fall apart. No sauce - too messy! If you have a dog, you may have to kill it if you want your tree to stay decorated till the mold sets in!
Snacking is optional, then redecorating is essential! You must be very drunk to decorate the pasta tree, and even drunker to eat three day old meatballs with spruce needles stuck on them!
i decorate my tree with red bulbs. i also decorate it with things i made when i was little. i also have a little baby bed that has my name on it and the year i was born. we also have lots of stuff my mom made too when she was little too. we buy dallas cowboy stuff for my dad cause he likes the dallas cowboys football team
I Finished decorating my white christmas tree last night. I put sparkly and some non-sparkly pink Christmas balls on there. I also hung white and pink lights to match.
A mixture of decorations, new and old we have saved over the years as our family grew. All full of christmas memories, great fun - no shortage of helpers.
