WoW! What a great question to remind me the best meal I had in my life.

I had to go to complete an irrigation project in one of the remotest areas of the world in Nepal. I landed by air from Nepalgunj to Jumla. There after it was 3 days walk up & down the hills to the destination. I had hired a porter to carry my luggege, food and other official equipments. We walked whole day & rested in the evening in a village where we were offered shelter. Since we had our own food so we cooked it and ate it and slept.

Walking the hills is always good early in the morning as in daytime sunheat is major obstacle to walk faster. We planned to start at 4 AM in the morning and would walk for 6 hours to RARA Lake one of the most beautiful lakes in Nepal which is huge in size and its perimeter is around 4 kilometer.

Since my porter was a local guy who challenged me that I could not reach before him so I took up the chalenge and moved much faster than him. This way we got seperated from each other and I lost the way. I kept walking but could not reach Rara lake as planned. I was feeling dizziness so I took shelter under a tree near a beautiful, serene river flowing. I felt asleep. When I woke up I saw 4 guys on the other side of the river cooking their local (Rota) which is like Flour dough and which was being cooked on a steel pan over fire burnt out of wood.

When they noticed me they invited me for ROTA and I could not resist my hunger so I joined them. They offered me ROTA along with spicy Ketchup ( made out of Green chilli, salt, onion & local herbs) . The size of ROTA was like a medium size Pizza. I ate the first one. They offered me another and I ate that as well and then another. This way I ate 3 big sized ROTA just with the Spicy ketchup.
When they asked me how was the ROTA, I told them it was the best food I ever had in my lifetime. I would never forget the food offered by those innocent, poor villagers. When I offered them money they felt bad and advised me that they were poor but never ever offer money as guests are very pious for them and I was for a great mission for their village so they were more than happy.I felt ashamed and thanked them for the best food.

I still miss that ROTA and ketchup. That is where I felt that we must always eat food when we are hungry as at that moment any food is just like nectre.

I pray to God to keep same innocence in the heart of those poor villagers and give me an opportunity to visit them again.

My most memorable meal would have to be when I got to go to a fancy dinner with my Dad(he's no longer with us) that one of his clients had invited him and my Mom to (Mom couldn't go for some reason). It was with a group called the Chaine de Rotisseurs. They are a group devoted to fine wine and incredible seafood. The event was at Gallos Seafood and Resturant in Philly. I had crab cakes for the first time there and I loved them! I also got to try some incredible wines (red and white). The menu also had eggplant parm (very good), a beef dish, fresh green beans, and a plate of beautiful desserts. You gotta try the steamed mussels!! They are huge!! I have never seen mussles this big before!!
One of the most weird, but also quite tasty, things I had was Cantaloupe sorbet! The prices are very reasonable, and it is decorated with a nice nautical theme. It was an experience I'll never forget!

My answer is simple. My memory just stinks. My most memorable meal is always the last meal I had. Other than that, I tend to forget what I was eating, as I dont feel the food is the important part of the day/event. I remember many fine events in life, but the meals are like shirts to guys; they aren't really appreciated until you dont have them.

The best meal I ever ate was and still is, Thanksgiving Dinner! There is NOTHING better in this world then taking fresh raosted white turkey breast, cutting it up and mixing it with my homemade mashed-potatoes, adding a little bit of cranberry to the mix, and to top of my huge pile of heaven, I top it with some freshly steamed peas and a spoonfull of homemade turkey gravy!!! Mix and eat! LOL! Sounds yucky I know but man I love it!! My grandmaother ALWAYS hated when I mixed everything together like that, but Im telling you its pure heaven!

If I had to choose a rstuarant though, it would be La Fondue in Saratoga California, a fabulous fondue place, but extreamly, extreamly expensive. But worth it.....another slice of heaven!

It was in Barcelona and consisted of a dish of vegetables fried in olive oil, followed by a chocolate steamed pudding. It is memorable as it was one of the last times I had a chocolate pudding as I am now diabetic.

Christmas Eve of 2005, 6, or 7

My mother prepared homemade turkey, stuffing, and matzo ball soup (similar to chicken dumpling)
The turkey was tender and slightly sweet, and everything was great.
We were watching "It's a Wonderful Life", as we do every year. My family was there, my mom and dad, older sister, younger brother, myself.

The best meal of my life was the lazagne dinner i had last year on v-day. it was lazagne, salad, wine, and a rich and creamy chocolate cake we also has cheese and crackers.
it was at a hotell here in town called the Blue Bird it is not the best in town infact it is one of the low end hotels. But it was great because at 11:35pm my boyfriend started to ask me to marry him. He talked about all the things we had done up to that time and all the things he wanted to do. the best part was he did the get down on one knee and ask but that is not all. He even used the words of would you do me the pleaser and honer of sharing the rest of my life with me by my side as my wife and equal partner.

Yes I cryed I tried not to but I did.
