My daughter is a language major in college. She is fluent in both French and Italian. She found that when she made flash cards of her words, she could quiz herself and stay on top of it. Whether it was verbs, general vocabulary, etc., she would make flashcards and study from it all the time. She said that it made a huge difference in staying on top of it and keeping it fresh.

During the summer, she would review the year's work so that she'd be sharp when taking the next course in the fall.

Seems to me like you need a lot of help. I myself have tried learning Japanese once. Very difficult! I've now settled on learning Italian.
Anyhow, I'm not very effected by studying either, but most of the time when I want to know a word or phrase I look it up and read it over and over. You said you are learning this in school though, so I'm not sure if any of my advice helps. Try this; get comfy, eat some brainy foods so you're alert, and what helps is to not just read over your notes and whatnot, but write them too. That way it should stick in your brain for a while. I was also told once that you remember things better before you go to sleep, so I'd suggest studying at night. What I mostly do also is put some music on, not everyday music, but nice relaxing music. My teachers always told me that calm music or even silence can open your mind and help messages get to your brain easier! So try these tips, hopefully they work! If not, I'm not sure how to help!

I know you said that you were in Spanish 2, but have you tried looking into Rosetta Stone? Its not cheap, but it works!! I know people who went to Hebrew School for years & my Hebrew is often times better than theirs.

The other thing that I suggest is watching Telemundo, Like the Tele Novelas or try Youtube, look up some of the Learn to speak Spanish Videos & cartoons.

Specifically though, what is the biggest problem with learning Spanish? Because what you wrote was beautifully written & correct! My problem was always conjugation...And they have Youtube videos for that as well. Let me know if that helps.

:)
