Domestic cats are quite sensitive to a number of different substances that can cause them to froth at the mouth. Cats routinely froth at the mouth if they've gotten something that they don't like the taste ofin their mouth.

Also, some cats salivate profusely when scared; cats foam at the mouth if they feel nauseated or are about to vomit a hairball.

If your cat trys to attack you, take your cat to the vet A.S.A.P. your cat could have Rabbies if it does that, or it's just really mad.
