Well it seems like Mikester has got here before me and done a pretty good job, too!

An open top sightseeing bus is a great way of seeing the landmarks in London.. of course an open top bus when it is raining isn't really the thing you need but we Do have some nice days.. funnily enough the Octobers that we've had in recent years have been sunny and quite warm.

Another place to visit is Greenwich, its a lovely upmarket, olde worlde kind of place, the Cutty Sark is there and it also has an interesting market and the best place I have ever been for the most delicious home made burgers, every sort you can think of. If the weather is good, a boat trip to Greenwich down on the Thames is nice and you can get off at all the different landmarks and there's a speaker on board telling you all about them. Then there's Primrose Hill at Chalk farm with its pavement cafes and restaurants.

Hampstead Heath is another nice place to go for old pubs and a nice atmosphere, again another place to go on a nice Autumn day and in the Summer.

The Embankment is nice too with its Theatres by the Thames and restaurants, side stalls and shops. Buckingham palace of course where you can see the Changing of the Guard - if you know exactly what time they are changing! And Hyde park is next to it.

Theatreland is at Charing Cross with all london's famous theatres and our famous Court, The Royal Courts of Justice, which isn't far from Covent garden and Leicester square. St Pancras station has just been revamped and i've heard its very nice and worth a visit. And of course any main line station like Victoria station can take you out of London to many different places within an hour or two. And a host of other places that I can't think of right now!

A daily travel card on the Tube will cost you about £6.00 but is cheaper if you buy an Oyster card that you can top up, it allows you to get a cheaper fare and you can travel on buses and tubes all day long.

The Hilton in Kensington is very nice and you'll like Kensington too, you can go to Kensington Palace where Diana used to live.

Somewhere in London there is an ice bar - everything and i mean everything, is made of ice, even the glasses! The back streets of London are a good place to go, they lead off of Oxford Street, its easy to lose your bearings (well if you're anything like me!!), but hopefully you won't be the only tourist and you can ask someone! Then there is China Town, you can walk there from Leicester square, an interesting place with lots of... yes chinese restaurants!!

You really need to be on ice skates to see the whole of London :)

It has been so long since I stayed there for a few weeks. I have passed through since a few times to visit Wales. When I stayed in London it was with my parents and we visited a lot of castles, you would love it. We went to see 'The Changing of the Guards' and that was a real site to see. And a tour through Buckingham Palace.Lester Square was full of thousands of pigeons that you could hand feed but I here they have been moved on now because they were a menase to the buildings.Roasted Chesnuts, you can get them on the streets of London and they also have people with trained monkeys on the streets that will play an air organ dance for a money donation. I didn't like that part as ,well, you know how I feel about animals. It's been so long now that I really can't give you any tips except it is cold and the lifestyle people live there is just so different to ours.I would never want to go there again yet I know Poms in Australia that would give anything to go back to their Home town in England.Don't shop at Harrods or you be broke before you walk out the door, they are way too expensive. If the 'Changing of the Guards' still runs then that is a must see. You will see the Beefeaters that I rattle on about and the Queen. And don't play on the lion statues or you will get told off by a guard!!

Richard, I have been to London countless amounts of times. It was were I was born and lived for the first few months of my life. I still go back quite a few times every year. I have seen a lot of the sites so will try to pass you on as much as I can.

How long will you be going for? Hilton London Kensington Hotel, I presume is a excellent place to stay. I know kensington is a very good area of London and Hilton is worldwide reknowned prestigious hotel name.

Recommendations... Where do I start? Visit a few of the landmarks in the west end.

Covent Garden is a great place, you will always find a few streets performers there, the people that act like statues and really good food and shops around. I usually go back every time I visit.

Leicester Square is just down the road from Covent Garden, walking distance. I know you can hire these pedicabs just outside the tube station. lol! Leicester Square is known for all the premiers of new movies out. Dander around it and see how many people ask you if you would like to buy some theatre tickets.

Trafalgar Square is probably where you will met thousands of piegons. That would be good to visit mainly on a good day (unlikely).

Piccadlily Circus is another place, Might be worth a look at. You could take the tube to view these places yourself or you could purchase a London sightseeing pass at Baker Street, which is where they depart and return too.

Also up the road from that on Baker Street is where Madame Tussauds is. I loved that place and I hope you get to visit it. You do all sorts of things. Have a look on there website for more info but I'll tell you that you will enjoy yourself.

Another thing you may be interested in doing a tour of Jack the Ripper. I went on this, and I think it was very good. You walk a bit but I enjoyed it. Don't go with London Walks though. These people were very good and it is not usually a huge group - http://www.jack-the-ripper-tours.com/

If you would like to meet some mad people then head down to camden. It has a few great markets which you may like to google. That might not be on top of your list because every second person is either a goth, emo or skater. Would be an interesting place to see but you may want to give it a pass.

There are alot of great museums is London, well of what I have heard. I haven't actually been to any but may be worth looking into. I think there is also one in Covent Garden but I may be wrong.

I'll finish off here, Take a look at the tours that go around the tower of London. You may just like to walk around or there are guided tours. It is really interesting in my opinion and well worth a visit.

The London eye is good although when I went I think you are queing for longer than you are actually up in it. It may be worth doing if you like.

I know you will not get all this done, but I hope there is a few suggestions that you may be interested in doing. By all means, please ask me anything you like or if there is anything I can do to help you in your visit to London, just let me know, here or email.
