My dad and I have been arguing about it for a while and I can't exactly remember how it got started but anyway. Ok I told my dad that a few years ago at my girlscout camp I hung out with a girl in my cabin who said she had been black until she had finally turned white when she was like 11 or 12-ish. MY dad said he has never heard of or seen anything like a black person turning white except of course for Michael Jackson who got doctors to bleach his skin. Can anyone back me up here and help me get my dad to understand that there really is a disease that can turn black people as white as me (by the way I am "literally" nearly as white as cotton)

I think you are referring to the condition called vitiligo. This is when the pigment in the skin disappears. It can go in small places, large patches, or even the whole body. Think Michael Jackson. His skin was black, but over time, he lost pigmentation.

Watch this video from You Tube. It shows a progression of Michael Jackson's vitiligo.

If your talking about in patches, vitiligo

Vitiligo, is a disorder that causes depigmentation of patches of skin. It occurs when melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin pigmentation, die or are unable to function. The cause of vitiligo is unknown, but research suggests that it may arise from autoimmune, genetic, oxidative stress, neural, or viral causes.[1] The incidence worldwide is less than 1%.[2] The most common form is non-segmental vitiligo.
