It is such a rich, sad story. It talks of the end of a society, a way of life and idealism. It is the end of romance, gentleness and the simple pursuits of life. It talks of how love grew, flourished and endured through unspeakable pain, deprivation and betrayal. It spoke of the hope of change and equality of the classes, and how the juggernaut it was went out of control. It talked of family and love surviving just about everything.
That is a lovely description - I never have been able to describe any book properly - so I HATE book reports - horrible!!!! But I still love to read :)
I have never read this book. But you gave a wonderful description - I have always admired a person who can give a interesting description of a book - because I have never been able to do so myself - even through I deeply love to read. :)
The Stand (unabridged version) - by Stephen King.
It's a great story with great characters. The really spooky part is the way Humanity is wiped out in the story is not at all an unlikely possibility. In fact, I've always considered it to be the most likely way we will be extinguished.
