I like all sorts of movies. Don't ask me why, but I like war movies. Perhaps that is because my father was a WWII and Korean vet. I grew up in the Vietnam era, and it seems that I have been seeing war's ugliness around me for a long time. Some of my favorite war movies are Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan and the HBO series, Band of Brothers.

I love romantic comedies, because that are both light, funny and always have a good ending. I liked The Proposal, The Wedding Date, Under the Tuscan Sun and older ones like Some Like it Hot.

I like historical movies. While Titanic was saccharinely sickeningly over done, the historical end of it was terrific. They did such a great job of recreating the Titanic. The uderwater footage was amazing.

I loved the Elizabeth movies with Cate Blanchette. While it wasn't entirely historically correct, it was still well done. Rob Roy and Braveheart were also fun (if a bit schmaltzy).

Comedies are always fun, but not everyone's sense of humor is the same. I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan, but I liked The Mask. I loved the Gene Wilder movies, like Blazing Saddles and Silver Streak. The Bridesmaids was hysterical.
