Macs have theirs and windows has Microsoft Security Essentials which is free and does not slow your machine down so much as the others. In most cases the free ones are about as good as the paid ones.
You must have one and only one active protector.
Spybot Search and Destroy is a good backup. You must update it by hand, but you can schedule a scan. It has other uses as well.
If your computer passes two tests, you can assume it is free from malware.
