Why do worms come out when it's raining? What do they do on the days that are sunny?

the first guy is wrong! The reason why the worms come out is because when the ground gets wet its like a flodd under ground so they come out not to die.

First of all, I am so glad you got your avatar. It's beautiful and I was tired of looking at that generic.
The worms think that they are still underground according to some clever experiment someone did. They need moisture, so they go a little deeper on the sunny days. So I dig my fishing worms in a damp spot so I won't have to dig so deep. Is that lazy or efficient?
