to be able to take care of the aged and or infirmed, one would need to know their history to be able to adequately supply them with the most that a care giver can offer.
an older adult sometimes does not live in the hear and now. they can remember what they wore to church 40 years ago but have a hard time remembering what they did a day ago. to be able to learn their history would give the caregiver the insight into the preferences of their patient. what they would like and what they need emotionally to keep them happy.
