THE BURN MARKS ARE WHERE THE WOOD HAS TURNED CARBON/CHARCOAL... NOTHING WILL GET RID OF THEM. SANDING BACK AND RESURFACING THEM CAN MAKE THEM LOOK BRAND NEW.

1 Moisten the steel wool pad with some lemon oil.

2 Rub the steel wool gently to remove the mark. Rub with the grain of the wood to avoid scratching the furniture.

3 Sprinkle the flour over the area to absorb the lemon oil.

4 Moisten the cloth diaper with some water.

5 Rub off the flour with a moist cloth diaper.

6 Apply some wood polish to the area to remoisten the wood.

Put some methylated spirit on the mark and set fire to it. It will draw the burn mark out, honest it does work. A French Polisher showed me that trick.

sand paper off the marks, start with coarse going to finer/ lighter paper.
Since deep burns leave a hole to be filled in with a matching wood putty
or glue in a chip of the same wood?
After patching drying and overall sanding, refinish with a polymer stain
and finish application... if you want it returned to original unblemished
and matching appearances.
