Explain the purpose of agreeing standards for your own work. Give at least two reasons

Work performance standards are beneficial to both supervisors and employees. Reasons: 1) gives an objective (measurable) benchmark for employee to be evaluated and rated; 2) clarifies (in rank order (i.e. priority)) what is important to the supervisor in terms of employee's performance; and 3) (Yeah, you get an extra reason - because doing more than what is asked of you is always a positive trait of a good employee) provides employee additional information on how to contribute to the overall goals and positive team environment of the organization.
