I totally agree with what you are saying and it's not fair, but I don't know the answer. Maybe if the doctors worked with little tight G-strings on and a band around their head they would be more popular !!!

I agree! Professional athletes didn't always make the big bucks they make now. It seems like their salaries are way over the top. I guess it may be that their careers are so short compared to other professions, and the risk of injury is high, they end up with no jobs at a much younger age than most, so they make enough money in ten years to last them a lifetime.

The ridiculous salaries of these people are not so much to promote the individual, but rather the industry itself. If the Halas family pays Mike Ditka a tremendous amount of money to coach his team, and he can promote the talents of a Walter Payton, then the Halas family makes even more money as a result of it. People will pay good money to see these "stars" play and the owners and advertisers make even more money.
When the talent is no longer profitable, they are cast aside and new talent will take its their place. The talent comes and goes, but the beurocracy remains. He who has the most money dictates the game, and even the highly paid talent falls by the wayside.
Unfortunately, many of the true professions, such as law and medicine, have also fallen victim to greed. So many doctors and lawyers will only help you if you have enough money. Doctors rarely will take care of someone simply because it is the right thing to do. Lawyers rarely help the little guy because there is no money or notoriety to be gained by it. The little guy always loses. Money rules.

I think it's horrible that singers, actors, etc get paid more than the man who runs the damn country. Ugh, truly...

I just heard that Mariah Carey got paid ONE MILLION DOLLARS for a one hour concert in Tailand. WTF is that about? Do you know how many homeless, sick, or needy people that could help?!?!? Not that I'm some do-gooder-give-your-money-to-others type person, but come on!!!

Yes these people give up their privacy but damn they're making up for it I suppose. It just never ceases to amaze me when the people who deserve the money don't make it and the ones that play a good game or hit a high note are making millions: Not that I begrudge their talents but Dayam!!!
