How would you feel if you broke your back at work 3yrs ago and went through 2 MAJOR operations and then still know that you will never be able to do the things you used to.Like you can never put socks and shoes on or cut your toe nails because your back is rodded and never bend again. As a man,how would that make you feel?

This would obviously have a great negative impact on a man's psychological well-being, especially if he had been the provider for the family. This is indeed quite a devastating occurrence. Regaining one's sense of contributing to the family and to life would require a person to focus more on what they CAN do with their mind and their heart to compensate for what they could once do with their body. This sense of loss will always be problematic, but should not be a source of lifetime sadness as we hear so many "success" stories on TV shows and the like about people who had such life-changing experiences and became successful despite it all.
Late last year my father was in a bad motorcycle accident, so I know firsthand how this can affect a persons life. Witnessing what he went through was devestating, and I felt helpless. Just wanted you to know I've been there.
my father had a veryu bad car accident when i was in 5th grade, i was told he wasnt going to live and if he did he would have special needs and wouldnt be abel to walk :(. But, after 3 months in the icu, and lots of therpy, after being bed ridden for months, he can now walk, i was the only person there to take care of him, putting on shoes, making food, ect. the thing thaty hurt the most is the fact that i could of lost my dad, and seeing him in so much pain at the time. But, when you love someone reguardless of sex or age, you will do what you can to help that person live a everyday life. I would never leave my b/f if something like this happened to him, he is my other half i complete him and he completes me reguarless what the situation may be. if i was the person that need help due to a back probelm i know i would be sad at first but then adjust, and realise that i am lucky to be here and that there are people out there that have it way worse off.
