Oh, Judes, I just don't know what to say. Yes, there were times when I also did feel depressed & in despair. During the worst of these times, all I did was to lock myself in my room -- no food, no friend, no anything. I just stayed in my room for 2 days & let the pain & desperation sink in until I could no longer take it. Then I went out, returned to work, & worked & worked my butt out. After work, I stayed with friends. Yes, I made it a point to keep myself busy & always have company, because when alone, the feeling of desperation immediately came back. I stayed like this for days until I regained my inner strength back.

I know that what worked for me may not work for others. But one thing I may advise you, Judes -- Please don't leave Askpedia. You see, putting your thoughts & feelings into words is also therapeutic. You may not feel that way right now but it actually helps by providing an outlet for the emotional turmoil you're having inside you. And this is one way to help you deal with feelings of despair.

Here, let me just share with you an article I saw from articlesbase.com. It goes:

"No matter where you are in life, there will be times when you will feel despair. As hard as you may try to avoid despair, it’s important to know what to do if you happen to experience it. Surprisingly, the answer is fairly simple. Just keep moving on!

The worst thing that you can do is to stop what you are doing and focus on the despair that you are experiencing. As soon as you stop, things in your life will begin to stagnate and get much worse than what you think they are.

There is a quote by Edmund Burke that says, ‘Never despair; but if you do, work on in despair.’ This is about as simple as you can explain how to overcome despair. Don’t stop pursuing your dreams and goals in life. Don’t forget the reason why you started your journey, whatever it may be.

Times like these have a time limit on them. You may feel like the despair and hopelessness you are experiencing has been going on forever, but if you keep pressing and never give up, you will see victory.

One question you can ask yourself whether there are things that you need to do differently than the way you have been doing them. If there are things you need to adjust, seek counsel from a life coach or from someone who has been down the same path. Sometimes all you need is a little adjustment to what you are doing; and that small adjustment will make all the difference in the world. But if you just stop and wallow in despair, you will never be able to hear the advice and counsel of those that can help you succeed in life."

I hope this helps. Remember, just keep moving on & stay strong.

I am not and i am content and at peace even with so much suffering in this life.

Despair is common to all humans, at least to a degree.
Despair may stem from the painful effects of aging, the death of a mate, or serious financial difficulties. Others find that relentless stress, lingering effects of a traumatic experience, or family problems make them feel as if they were floundering in the middle of the ocean, with each wave making it harder to reach the shore. : “You feel a sense of worthlessness—as though no one will miss you once you are gone. The loneliness one feels is at times unbearable.”

Despair is defined as the “utter loss of hope.” Clearly, then, to conquer despair, we need hope!

Hope can even give those suffering the torments of clinical depression the courage and strength to endure. But the hope must be dependable! What does this mean? The Christian hope is “both sure and firm.”

So the Christian hope, which helps us fight against despair, depends not on human politicians but on a heavenly arrangement. It depends on the One whom God appointed, Jesus Christ, who gave his life as a ransom for our sins and who now appears before God in our behalf.

This same Jesus is the one divinely appointed to rule as King of God’s heavenly Kingdom. This heavenly Kingdom will shortly remove the things that drive so many to despair. Christ Jesus, will remove the corruption and inequalities that cause so many to despair today. Under that Kingdom, this earth will be restored to a paradise, and God will give eternal life to those who love him.

Read the Bible carefully to see that this hope is true. Then work at developing a close personal relationship with God, becoming his friend . Since Jehovah is the “Hearer of prayer,” tell him of your concerns. When your approach is sincere, your prayer will help you unload your burdens and conquer your despair. God’s spirit may even open up a way to change the situation that distresses you.

I despair at the inhumanity & cruelty in this so called civilised world. I despair at the atrocities carried out in the name of religion. I absolutely despair that in a world of plenty there are still children dying through a lack of clean water, food & basic medicine.
I am lucky, I have sunshine in my life and I hope you have some in yours soon.

If something tragic has occurred in your life, you may have been a victim of “time and unforeseen occurrence.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) On the other hand, things sometimes go wrong in life because of our own inherited sinfulness. (Romans 5:12) Even if you have erred seriously but have repented and sought spiritual help, do not feel that you have been abandoned by God. (Psalm 103:10-14; James 5:13-15) More than anyone else, he cares for us. (1 Peter 5:6, 7) You can be confident that “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34:18) No matter how tragic or severe your trial may be, Jehovah can give you the wisdom to deal with it. (James 1:5-8) Always remember that Jehovah can heal all wounds.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt YOU in due time; 7 while YOU throw all YOUR anxiety upon him, because he cares for YOU.
