What "mother warning" do you wish you had listened to at the time

One that stands out for me "you can buy your " man" anything that you wish but never buy him any shoes" her meaning was, he would leave you for good/walkout from the relationship.

O well, I tried it, she was correct. And I haven't bought any "shoes" for my partner :-)

What a warm question it brings back wonderful memories since my mom died but there are so many things that reminde me of her.
One of her favorite saying was The fish died by it is mouth meaning you need to eat right do not eat unhealthy food.She was an excellent cook and everything was from scratch and nutricious.
Another one is You can not teach a pig to sing in another words accept people how they are you will be miserable trying to change them.
I have too many that i can write but i leave these two.

When I was about twelve, I wanted to go to the beach swimming with my friends - no adults present! My mother wasn't keen on the idea, but she let me go with a warning - If you drown, don't come home crying to me about it! Needless to say, I didn't drown! LOL!!!
