What is the daily recomendation of fruits and vegetables and meats (protein) the portion sizes and juice intake for a healthy balanced day, of a two year old toddler girl?
Two year olds are often picky eaters, but you can allow them to eat as much of their favorite fruits and vegetables as they want at mealtimes and for in between meal snacks. Cereals and whole grain bread should be staples on their diets, at least two servings per day. Two or three glasses of real fruit juice a day is fine. Protein can be given in the form of fresh (not processed) meats, eggs, peanut butter (if not allergic), cheese and milk - this would fulfill the protein requirements. Encourage the toddler to drink water.
Who invented the balanced diet for a 2 yr. old anyway. If she loves a certian fruit or vege then give her as much as she wants. My moto is water, milk and fruit on hand whenever they feel like it.She may eat all day and then won't be hungry at dinner time but don't worry about it.For the little girls that won't eat a good one is to give them a bowl of frozen peas, they love it ! Your baby is not old enough for meals at a set time so just go with the flow with snacks all day.
