My friends & familyhave for a number of months keep pointing out that my breathing has become really bad.
I have been told that I have very shallow breaths & when I'm eating my friends & family keep pointing out that I am strugling to breath so much when I am eating food that I have to stop chewing & open my mouth to catch a breath.
My friends & family also keep pointing out that I am always huffing & puffing & that I seem to be always out of breath where ever I go.
Lastly my girlfriend doesn't like spending the night at mine as when I am a sleep I snore really loudly & during the course of the night if often sounds like I choking & gasping for air & she keep thinking I'm going to die.
My girlfriend bought me a box of nose strips that widen your nostrils. I have tried these but they have not really helped at all.
So I was wondering if any user on here knows;
1. Any methods or exercises that increase the depth of breath when breathing.
2. Any methods or exercises that help increase the size of ones lung capacity.
3. Any methods or exercises that improve the lungs performance in its ability to asorb more oxygen with each intake of air.
4. Any methods or exercises to improve lungs strength & stamina.
5. Any methods or exercises that help you hold your breath longer.
6. Anything that can help improve breathing when one is a sleep.
I'm no expert when it comes to health issues but would like to help with one or two advice as I have been having breathing problems too. It was so bad I turned green from it. During sleep, posture could play an important role. Try to sleep on your side or lessen your pillows if you're sleeping on too many. It's blocking your airway. Secondly, you could try this simple breathing exercise. Not easy but it has helped me after practicing it for quite some time.1.Take a deep breath, hold it for as long as you can, while timing yourself. Exhale, then repeat the same exercise again. For starters, you can do it just five times. Timing should improve after regular practice for a week. Wear loose clothing and be comfortable with yourself.Important for you to be relaxed before trying this exercise. Best done as soon as you get up in the morning. Let me know how it goes.
