Okay, its a bad day for everyone. The dog was sick; kids woke up late, and you burned the mac and cheese. How do you get through the "bad moods" in your household?

Doesn't get worse that burning my mac and cheese. It sometimes helps to try to figure out a fix. Then make a new day.

If it's a bad day, just take a short break by getting out of the house. When you come back, you and everyone else will have calmed down.

I've had days like your bad day even though I don't have kids. The best thing is to go to sleep and forget about it the next morning.

I've been there. Sometimes, I wind down the day with a glass of wine and then wake up the next day ready to start all over again with a new perspective on things. Sometimes, the next day ends with a glass of wine as well! However, there's always the next day!

It depends, really, on who has the problem. Remember that women need to feel secure and men need to feel appreciated. So if the woman is having a bad day, don't try to fix the problem-just listen; really listen. If the man has the problem, then find something to compliment him on. There must be real emotions and real listening.

Just go to sleep and wake up tomorrow knowing that tomorrow is a new day.
If that fails, just take some time off and do something completely different. Leave the house, go for a run, go shopping, etc. The key is to get yourself out of your current environment so you can return refreshed with a new perspective on things.
