lump on arm after contrast dye in vein
Asked by: debbiedoo6122 from PADUCAH, KY
i had a cat scan about a month ago and when the dye was going thru my arm i mentioned it burned more than when i had them in the past, but he said its normal, i didnt have any problems untill a week in a half ago and right above the area where they put the dye in is about as big as a large walnut its very tender and when i touch it to hard it sends extremely sharp pains down my whole arm, there isnt any red lines or any thing showing it could be a blood clot or infection should i be concerned and what should i do and will this go away on its own??
thanks,
debbie

Call your physician and/or speak with his nurse - this is free of charge! They may advise you to put warm compresses on the "knot". They may want to see you. Any way you look at it, it's painful and large - the doctor needs to know. The solution may very well be only a phone call away - why put yourself through the discomfort.
