Nominative Trade Mark Use
Asked by: Coglietti from MIDDLEPORT, OH
When a product that is owned by company #1 is devised to work with products of company #2, is it OK to mention that fact on Company #1's Web page without infringing on Company #2's trademark/name?

I have read the issues about nominative trademark use, and I think the answer to this problem is YES. As long as the intent is to inform, not confuse the ownership or affiliation with Compay #2.

You would think so, And then this morning everybody is talking about the Google case and so what does anybody know about it. Your question is timely. Yesterday we thought we knew, Today maybe not. Does it hurt to ask the company? Might save you a problem if they get cranky!
