I said "thank you". And I perhaps asked a question about it, if I needed to understand it. They were trying to help me. If it was valuable criticism, I tried to apply it. If not, I ignored it.
Then I decided it was better to study hard and be the supervisor who "helps" others than to be the one criticized. And so I did.

I can't think of anyone who hasn't been criticized by a supervisor or teacher. When I was younger, I was very shy and abused... so I just kept my mouth shut.... However NOW that I'm much older now, I don't accept too much criticisim unless its for my art work that I'm tryting to sell..
If my boss wrongly criticized me now, I would adamantly stand up to her/him and politely demand an explanation. Then I say, 'If you can't say nothing...

We've all been criticized by someone in a position with higher authority. This includes parents, teachers, bosses, etc.
Whenever I'm criticized by someone, I really do make an effort to swallow my ego and listed to what they're saying. The criticism might not always be valid or they might have an agenda in criticizing you. However, it's worth listening to what they're saying because there is almost always something ...
