Make sure you're at the pool at least 3 times a week.

Enlist a coach or trainer or fellow swimmer or lifeguard to evaluate your technique and make suggestions for improvement. They may see things you don't and be able to suggest drills and technique tweaks. Once you have the best technique possible, work on your pacing. Do intervals and distances and pay attention to your times and paces. Make sure you get into a rhythm that makes you comfortable and doesn't deplete all of your energy. Technique is crucial, once you have it your pace will set itself and you'll go from ther...

sometimes the only solution is to practice but a high protein, high carb meal maybe eight hours before the meet should help your stamina.

1. swimming is just like any other work out, you have to train your endurance for it. In order to do so, I would do a fair amount of cardios everyday for maybe 30 mins. Doing Jump-ropes can really help. Say your event is about 2 min and 30 secs, try to train your heart and the way you breath to do as many jump-ropes as you possibly can. Then take a rest and start another set. The key thing is that you MUST train your body to get used to it. The reason why i suggested land workout like jumprope is because land workout wi...

Diet for endurance would mean eating carbs hours before swimming but not enough to weigh down your stomach. Race workouts/training include swimming longer distances (i.e. 400 with each hundred being like how youd want each length in a 100 to be, turning it on in the last 100) working up your endurance with speed so a 100 you can be on the whole time. In the actual 100 in the race get into a pace in the first length, getting gradually faster throughout, especially the third and all out in the fourth. In the third most wi...

you dont need endurance for a 100 free. you just need to go balls out. progress your laps 1-4.
practice with fartlek sets, or "speed play" in Swedish. the idea is to do sets that will test your speed through a set that is normally longer than the race. you can search this...mucho info all over the net about this.

DUDE!!!!!! scratch all of those other pointers. I was on the swim team at my high school for 4 years and i was always victorious in either 1st or 2nd place. If you honestly want to do good then your diet should strictly consist of protein. You should eat eggs for breakfast and your other meals should either be turkey, grilled chicken, or tuna fish. (or a combination of these). Drink protein drinks as often as possible but don't overdue and make yourself sick. As far as workouts go always, always, always do a mild warm-u...
