If lightfixtures burn out, is there a problem with the house wiring?

Two separate hanging lamps have stopped working. Can this mean there is a short somewhere in the home wiring?

You could check the breaker switch - they be both on the same one and it may have tripped for some reason.

If the breaker is okay, and the lamps run off the same wall switch then the switch is suspect.
