Up until a few years ago, I used to send over 400 to the local Mental Hospital alone after I found out that there were so many people in there who never get visitors. Other people were sending one card per ward, but I just had to be different... A lot of the patients were Polish ex-servicemen and women, so I managed to find a personal greeting for them in Polish. I could not have done this without the help of the local Liaison officers.
Sadly, the Hospital wing closed down and I lost contact with the patients after that.
Out of all the Patients, the most memorable was the ONE returned to us via Hospital Staff.
Now, I certainly try and write at least one card (signed from A Friend), for someone locally who lives alone and is not expecting a card from anyone.
Good fun, though time consuming.
If you have a local Psychiatric Hospital, contact the Welfare Staff and see if you can bring a little sunshine into someon'e life. You never have to meet them, but I know for certain that some of these patients cling to the card they receive, sometimes for over 6 months... Try surprise cards, you might like it!!!!!

Including wedding, sympathy, get well, Easter, chanukah, Christmas, anniversaries, graduation, baby showers, wedding showers and birthdays, about 300.

dang Marilou. I send a lot of ecards. I have a program that allows me to personalize with my own pictures and greeting. I know it's not a good as sending something in the mail but sometimes it's the best that I can do. I send a lot of handwritten notes - mostly thank you's. Mom mom always sent cards and I try to as well.

I only mailed about 4. I just give them to people in person.

We have to create things, don't we? I think it because we can.

I have a site called Jacquie Lawson that I use that has the most unusual ecards to send...They are so active and it only cost $10 a year to use. I send all my cards from this site, so I probably send over 30 a year. Everyone should check out this site....The cards are so unusual.....

Two. The quality of humour in Hallmark cards fills me with panic and emptiness. I can't face it very often.
