No, and I've been beating myself up about this lately. I have to be more disciplined. When you've got children watching everything you do and remembering everything you say, you have to be careful. My kids have actually said, "How come you said that, but we can't? You said it's bad to say that!" I've been caught being a hypocrite a few times. If you practice what you preach, you won't have to worry about getting caught misbehaving!!

I give it my best shot! But I'm not always successful! I think that's because we see faults in others, but don't always recognize those same faults in ourselves!

I am confident that we both try to live up to our standards. and we pick ourselves up when it is hard. I think you are good at that.

Although we may have differences in what we preach there is at least one compound constant - (Minding one's own business/Leaving people alone). If we all did that we would get along much better but if we all did that then we couldn't preach about it.

Interesting that I would come across this question because I have just been going through this very thing. I have my new book now which was just made available for purchase and the only worry I have had is that I could live up to what I wrote. It is about how God found me in the middle of a tragedy. It covers the realizations, and the meaning to my life I found within my faith. I was talking to my friend the other night about this and my only answer was that if I came across complications from the "judgers" out there I would quote the famous words of Paul in Romans 7 that say,

"19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."

Simply put, I am still a work in progress... a spiritual work that is still in human form and under human conditions. And I as Paul say at the end of the chapter;

22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24O wretched man (woman) that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

I thank God that I am still under construction and that God loves me anyway.

I always bitch at my brother for feeding his children crap even though I sometimes eat the same crap, but I was fed crap as a child myself and feel that it is a learned behavior, If a child is fed healthy food from the beginning of their life they are less likely to crave crap food throughout their life, so I feel like this hypocritical preaching is justified

Not half as much as I wish I did.

It is nice to be reminded of it at times... and other times not so nice.

Every Sunday Ol' Jeb would fall asleep halfway through the sermon, sometimes to the point of snoring. The Preacher decided to have some fun with Jeb, so the following Sunday, he began his sermon as usual. Soon he noticed Jeb was drifting off to sleep, so he began to talk softly. "Now friends," he said to the congregation, "I'm sure that each one of you here is a good Catholic, and wants to go to heaven." The congregation all nodded agreement. The Preacher continued softly, "Well, if there's anyone here that doesn't want to go to heaven, and wants to go to Hell, then..." and the preacher takes a deep breath and shouts, "STAND UP!" Well, Jeb is startled awake with the shouting and instantly jumps to his feet! The Preacher looks over his pulpit at Jeb and asks, "Jeb, are you really sure you want to be standing up?" Jeb looks around and replies, "Well, Preacher, you're the only other one a-standin', but I'm with you all the way!"
