When false allegations happen for over a year is it considered harassment?

Someone has been accusing me of many terrible things over the past year and a half. There seems no end to this persons allegations and accusations. Since all the allegations are false, my lawyer recommends that we just let it proceed. The trouble is, these allegations and accusations keep interfering with our lives and at this point we feel it is harassment. Is there a legal way to stop someone from accusing me and as a result making my life and my family life very upsetting?

If you have proof that these accusations are false, then you can charge them with slander, defamation of character, libel and pain and suffering! Go for it! They'll have to pay your court costs too!

This was a good answer thank you. The trouble is the person doing the harassing is in the USA and I am in Canada. I am not sure if this will apply cross border. |
