Animals can recognize shapes and symbols, but even the most talented cannot read. We have to remember there are many components of reading such as comprehension.

I would say NO to the idea of getting the dog to do your homework. However, I believe they recgonize Color/Shape/Logo therefore can respond to a word that is familar.
