That being said, your comment about how Republican policies don't work for America is quite false. There was a time when the states controlled everything and liberal policies made everything federally controlled. This is why the Federal Government is in so much debt; they have to do everything states once did.
The simple fact is that you cannot liken McCain to Bush. Though he is a moderate conservative, that doesn't mean that they both share the same ideologies. I am a conservative, as is Tom Tancredo, but we both share radical differences regarding our beliefs on immigration. McCain would be a huge change from the Bush Administration as long as the people follow through and elect a majority Republican Congress, the people that really control the country.
People often say that Bill Clinton was a great President, but in truth he was actually quite bad. Honestly, the only reason this country survived and prospered through the 90's has to do with the fact that we had a Republican Congress the entire time. Republicans have always supported smaller government, opposed pork-barrel spending, and, in most cases, always place America before themselves.
Most people do not remember, but for the first few years of the Bush Administration, the country was doing quite well. Yes, the middle class shrunk, but it was because they were progressing into the UPPER class. More and more people were enjoying success and becoming rich; more and more people were achieving the American dream. Things, however, got bad when we elected a Congress with a Democratic majority in 2006. This is when the shit really hit the fan.
Even if you do not think McCain would be the best choice for America, he is clearly better than Obama. Obama is a self-admitted Socialist that produced a fake birth certificate, he has admitted that he hates whites in his own biographies, he wants to cut funding in many areas of our military, like weapons development, and he wants to dismantle our nuclear program. There is no way that, in a sensible nation, Obama will win.

i would not vote for republicans after 8 years bc of the failed policies from the bush administartion and how they say they are "Pro-Life" but have done nothing to try to prevent it. In the last 20 of 28 years we have had a President who says they are Pro-Life and have done nothing about it. One thing does trouble me about him and I don't want sound judgmental and I do appreciate he is a war hero for your country. I am not sure I would want a president who had been tortured by an enemy. It does things to your inner psyche and the possible impact on a future pax americana is chilling to me.

I'm voting Republican this year because true conservative principles do work, and liberal principles don't. Bush has low approval ratings, and that was because he did not follow conservative principles. Also, a president must be able to win over the public in his decisions, and neither Bush nor Cheney are very good speakers, so this is very hard to do.

That being said, raising taxes is just not a good idea when in an economic down-turn. Same with raising minimum wage, as all it does is drive prices up, the cost of living up, and cause employers to lay-off workers in order to keep making a profit. Also, putting more air in your tires will not solve the gas crisis.

I think Obama has said enough stupid things when not in front of a TelePrompTer to show that he is absolutely not ready to lead. He has no foreign policy experience, no executive experience, and he is the most liberal in Congress.

That being said, McCain has shown during the election that he is ready to lead. He has said he will honor our agreement with Iraq and have all of our troops out by 2011. It would not be possible to have a safe and responsible withdrawl with Iraq secure without McCain's troop surge, which Obama opposed and still says didn't work. He says he won't raise taxes, which is important in bad economic times. He also will lift the ban on off-shore drilling, giving us more fuel in the future to ensure that we keep gas prices low. He is different than Bush in that he cares about the environment, and will do something to reduce CO2 emissions.

Finally, even though he isn't a good speaker, his Vice President Sarah Palin is an excellent speaker. She will be able to win the country over on John McCain's plans, which she agrees with for the most part, and that was something that Bush/Cheney didn't do.

I think the most important thing is that the next President will have a war to lead, either in Iraq or Afghanistan, and probably both. I don't want Obama leading my friends who are in the Middle East, because I just don't trust his judgement. Bush has kept our country safe, and McCain will, too. Obama might, but nobody is really sure because he is so inexperienced.
