Name ways I can violate a patent.

For example: if I have a device that is similar to a patented device, but my device does the same thing, but in a different way, is it a violation?

Many great, long and expensive lawsuits have been tried over that question, but if your device is truly different it is not a violation just because it accomplishes the same task.
