Radium is a trace element found in uranium ores. Therefore when uranium is extracted from the ore, radium is said to be a waste element of uranium ore, though its' uses are multiple.

It is a waste due to it's harmful radiation but sometimes can be used for useful purposes it can last for about 1,600 years so there is plenty of it!!

Because radium waste disposal issues are relatively to the problems they raise are complex and difficult. Radium does cause biological damage that if not reduced the levels of radium that could shorten the lives.

Researches have estimated that as much as 80% of all human cancer is due to environmental sources (including diet and such activities as cigarette smoking)....
