divorce

i am divorced 1998 however when matrimonal home was sold, there was debts that had to be paid out of the sale, the debt was in both our names. what i would like to know can i sue my ex husband for halve of the debt incurred, although being over ten years since the divorce,

would it be worthwhile for me to do this

I am not a lawyer and good for me for that. I have had some college law.

There are some debts in some states where the stature of limitations is 20 years.
Anybody can sue anybody for anything. So the question is is it worthwhile?
The divorce decree should have covered this. And the next question is are ...

If the amount is high enough for a lawsuit (consider legal fees and court costs) - go for it! If the amount is small enough (usually under $5,000) for small claims court - go for it!
