I discovered that my children's reflexes were faster than mine. A few white hairs came in. I cut them out. I didn't need to do things to make me look more mature. Maturity was at hand. I realized that I was getting older, but the alternative was not appealing at all. It wasn't that big a deal for me, but I went along with all the jokes.

I broke a tooth on an unpopped pop corn and suddenly realized that I was not invincible. It was Earth-shattering. I had to suffer through having a bridge made and installed. It was so terrible I had to ask for a lady psychotherapist who looks like Mary Worth to hold my hand. She did and I survived, but have not been the same since.
