Whirlpool Refridgerator
|
My 6 year old whirlpool fridge stopped cooling. I had a guy come out and said it needs a new compressor just by opening the door and looking at it. Do I need a new compressor or is it his way to get more money out of me? The fridge starts then the lights dim then you can hear a click the light gets brighter but does not cool. Is there anything else that can be wrong? Can I put a new compressor in or does it take special tools or something? The fridge is a Whirlpool Gold Model # gd5shaxkq02

If the refridgerator can be regassed then that would all it would need and check for leaks. Get another opinion from another fridge mechanic.
