How do you refurbish sun faded leather on furniture (sofa)?

I have a brown leather sofa that is sun faded on the top and back and I would like to know if there is a way to "stain or dye" it to be able to blend the color to its original chestnut brown. A thought is using brown shoe polish.

Shoe polish sounds good but it will rub off onto peoples clothes.If you try to dye the leather it will be very hard to get the right match and sometimes the dye never takes properly and rubs off when you touch it as well. You could do what i did and that was to move the piece of furniture out of the sun and keep up with the furniture polish, it really does help with the color.
