Does anyone have a cat that was hit by a car and survived?

My cat was hit by a car yesterday. I found her curled up in my bed.
Her mouth and nose had blood on it and looked swollen. She would just like there and looked over exhausted. My father took her to the vet and they said she has been hit by a car. Her little tooth has been chipped and she blood behind her eye. Her claws have been split because of the pavement. I'm trying to get through my shift at work today, but I feel like cying every 5 minutes. They are keeping her overnight as she is having problems eating. They are not sure if she has broken anything yet...they say it may cost 1500.00. I am very worried about her as she an outdoor cat and we are intending to keep her inside going forward. Is this drastic change in her lifestyle going to be to hard for her?

No! If she has not major internal injuries, you can make her into an indoor cat as long as she's spayed! She'll get used to being indoors within a few months. If you have her front paws declawed, she won't cause any damage to your furniture. Her fear of the car hitting her will probably make her a very docile indoor cat. She'll feel safer!

She may have a trauma after this ordeal cause you mentioned she was curled up in your bedbut if she is physically well then that would be your only concern! i don't think they have a shrink for animals but as long as nothing reminds her of her accident she will be ok she might not even have a trauma!! I am truly sorry about your kitty i had a dog once and he liked to chase our car when we left somewhere so one day some murderer ran over him on purpose i can prove it was on purpose due to the fact that he went to the tro...
