bbc 2 play called
Asked by: bradshawvincent from -
for many years ive been trying to find out about a tv play/film broadcast on march 1st 1972 on bbc2 that made a deep impression on me and has stayed in my mind as freshly as if i saw it yesterday(i was 16 when broadcast and 52 now) it was about a man obssessed with catching a white horse on dartmoor. he tries lassooing it again and again and failing.over a number of days he becomes more and more dishevilled and desperate and is just about to give up when the horse relents and he has a triumphant ride over the moors! ive discovered recently that the film was called "the stallion" and the actor was peter arne.it was based on an idea of producer john king and david rook author of "the white colt".it was filmed entirely on dartmoor.my questions are- does anyone else remember this film/play? did it make as much of an impression as it did on me? and is it still available in any medium?.i fear this amazing film is lost forever to future generations
